As this project is substantially in abeyance, this report is mostly generated automatically, with minor textual additions at the end of each academic year.


Rationale for this Project
General Status
  1. This project is now effectively moth-balled. There’s unlikely to be face-to-face bridge for another year. However, the development of RealBridge undercuts some of my objections to on-line bridge, in that there is inter-personal contact, though it still has the drawback of being stuck in front of a computer screen.
  2. Statistics: by partner and club-category can be obtained by following these links – for the last quarter and to date (both reflecting play up to and including 20Q1).
  3. Results: Follow this link. Further information can be found from my Bridge Page7.
  4. Master Points:
    • 36,3898, bagged to date, including 1,249 Blue Points and 107.39 Green Points.
    • That makes me a National Master. My next milestone9 will be to achieve Premier National Master status (40,000 LPs, including 100 GPs) – so comfortably there as far as GPs are concerned, but still a long way to go for local points.
  5. EBU Grading:
    • Started as a K, rose to an Ace of Clubs in early February, stayed at that level until (what turned out to be) the last game of the quarter (National Pairs) where a rotten set dropped me down to a K by 0.01%. Stuck there until bridge resumes!

  6. Summary of Progress to Date: I’ve hived off the history to a Summary of Progress to Date11 document.

Summary of Progress during July - September 2020
  1. I spent 18.75 hours in 20Q3 on this Project, or related work (463.25 hours YTD, where for "YTD" - Year to Date - I mean the (academic) year that commenced in October 2019). That's 47.9% of the planned effort (86.7% YTD). Overall, 2.7% of my Project effort in the Quarter was directed towards this project (making 16.6% YTD) - as against 5.6% planned (18.1% YTD).

  3. As can be seen, only about half the scheduled time was expended, partly on the anticipated Admin though some time was spent reviewing the Mountnessing “Hands of the Week” and playing Estimation Whist on holiday!
