As I announced today, we committed at the AGM to hold off on increasing table money this year and said we would review the clubs financial position again nearer the end of the year. Attendance continues to be quite strong and we have decided to keep the table money unchanged, at £2 for members, through to the next AGM in July 2018. However, we will be collecting table money at the Christmas party to help partially offset the cost.

Last year’s Christmas party was very well attended (14 tables) and to assist me in planning this years event, to be held on Monday December 18th, I would like to have an approximation of the number of people who plan to attend. Would you please let me know, when you are next at the bridge club, whether you plan to attend. No need to e-mail me. Thanks.

For anyone who was not at the club today, I informed everyone present that the funeral of John Peacock will take place on Friday September 29th at 12:30pm at Chelmsford Crematorium, North Chapel. Refreshments afterwards at The Bear PH, Stock.

If you plan to attend and have not already indicated so to Bernie or myself, please let me know. It will help Carol if she has some idea of the number of people attending.

We are saddened to announce that John Peacock - Chairman of the Mayflower Club and a regular at the Monday Club - passed away on Friday 8th September. Our thoughts are with Carol at this time. See the EBCA Website for details of the funeral arrangements.

Well done to Linda Barker & Frank Morrison who won the 2016 Mixed Pairs Trophy on 17th October 2016.

Thanks to all who attended today's AGM. Items discussed and agreed were:

1. Accounts for the year to June 30, 2016 were approved. To prevent a possible shortfall in the next financial year, Annual Subscription will be raised to £10 per member. Members table money at £2 and Guest table money of £4 are unchanged. Thanks to Peter Mamelok for preparing the accounts and agreeing to remain as Treasurer.
2. Derek Stewart has stood down as Chairman and Peter Bailey has agree to take over this role. Fortunately, there were no objectors. Our thanks again to Derek for his work on behalf of the club.
3. Ann Davidson has stood down as Secretary and John Sutcliffe agreed to take on this role. Our thanks to Ann for her contribution.

Well done also to John Sutcliffe & Len Williams, and June Holmes & Sylvia Pritchard who won the 2016 Men's and Ladies' Pairs Trophies, respectively on 25th April 2016.
